Lauriana Mae – Love Remix ft Jersey Demic

The story behind this remix is quite intriguing.  Jersey Demic who has hosted several shows at SOBs usually lends an ear to the upcoming artists, though some are good, they hardly ever stand out over each other.  After hearing Lauriana Mae live at SOBs nightclub in New York City, Jersey Demic decided to remix one of the artists songs on his own.  The song he chose was “Love” a oldies sounding record which Lauriana Mae speaks about how love has never been kind to her.  Lauriana’s vocals are stunning and Jersey Demic did a great job of adding lyrics which fit the content, vibe, and beat of the already smooth song.  ”I was feeling the record so much that I actually freestyled the entire second verse, you can probably tell if you listen close, lol.  But it flows well and it still makes sense so I left it on the record,” said Jersey Demic.

On May 1st 2012 Jersey Demic got the opportunity to meet Lauriana Mae again at her label showcase at Quad Studios in NYC.  After meeting Jersey Demic quickly congratulated Lauriana Mae on all of her recent success.  Lauriana who is also from Jersey was humbled by the compliment and she thanked Demic & Bawsten for listening to her music.  Lauriana has quite a bright future as she may fullfil the wide gaping hole left by artists such as Amy Winehouse and let’s just say a Lauryn Hill only because she is from Jersey, not for any other reason.  The label seems to be doing a good job of showing their support of her career, she is recently signed to Atlantic Records a company under the major label Warner Music Group.

The collaboration seemed like a no brainer to Jersey Demic who has recently released a mixtape of remixes and freestyles featuring the late great Amy Winehouse.  The mixtape is a 7 track LP which uses various samples from Amy Winehouses catalog as backing tracks, as Demic lays vocals.
