We get inside the diabolical mind of Gotham City, NJ’s Daddy Bawsten
Ever wonder what it’s like to live your dream? I mean forreal. Well we caught up with Daddy Bawsten this past weekend to get into the thoughts of one of hip hop’s most promising newcomers.

“MEET DADDY BAWSTEN”
CW: Hi Bawsten wassup
daddybawsten: wats up
CW: last we spoke you were trying to quit smoking, how is that going?
daddybawsten: its going well im on day 2 of quitting
CW: thats good, so what do you do to keep your mind off smoking
daddybawsten: i stay busy and when i get a craving i do 10 diamond push ups
CW: diamond push ups, you must be trying to impress the ladies
who is your celebrity crush?
daddybawsten: lmao
Awww maan
I got two. i like to stay covered on both ends of the spectrum. Zoe Saldana & Nicki Minaj
CW: what about Nikki Minaj do you like?
daddybawsten: I like that she doesn’t care what people think. I like how she presents her self outside of rap. she’s very modest and treats her fans very well. she’s always giving hugs & autographs. down to earth cool chick thats physically attractive. doesnt hurt that she can rap
CW: yea there is a lot of hype surrounding her skills, what about you what would the song be about if you collaborated with Nicki Minaj
daddybawsten: prolly some bonnie clyde, shorty hold me down til the end type joint
CW: im sure it would go straight to number one.I’ve heard you were recently on the news in Brazil, can you explain that?
daddybawsten: ha ha
Yea, GloboTV did a segment on inmates twittering while incarcerated. I was one of the people they mentioned. Too bad I’m not incarerated..i made bail the night i was arrested.
It’s all Phil Spector from USA Today’s fault
CW: how do you feel about rappers only garnering attention from negative publicity?
daddybawsten: It makes me sick!!! We performed in front of the White House innauguration weekend in the blistering cold to welcome our president and our STATE newspaper wouldn’t do a story on us but i twitter from jail and make NATIONAL headlines? WTF!?
CW: I heard about the White House performance it mustve felt historic, how does it feel switching roles from being a person who is paying to see performers to a person paying to see you perform?
daddybawsten: it’s like a dream come true but the feeling doesn’t last long once ithink about how much further we have to go! but being on that stage, paid or not, hearing those fans scream…there’s nothing like it.
CW: before we continue, would you like to join me for a smoke break?
daddybawsten: lmfao! no thanks..now i gotta do 10 push ups!
push*
CW: just testing you! you passed with flying colors
daddybawsten: lol
CW: I saw you while you performed on the TGI Fridays Promo Tour and I liked the song “Beautiful” and then I heard your song “Terror” which I also like. there is a huge variation between those two artists though, explain
daddybawsten: ha ha
My girlfriend would say I’m bi-polar and i can’t that i disagree. lol there are many sides to bawsten. he tends to change or evolve day by day. you never know wat u might hear next
CW: girlfriend, what would Nicki Minaj say about that?
daddybawsten: lol she might like it
CW: are you implying shes gay?
daddybawsten: lmao!!!
no
she’s gay?
CW: thats what you said
daddybawsten: nooo
thats wat u said
CW: dont worry your statement wont make the interview
lol
daddybawsten: lmao Wow!
CW: who is your favorite artist from the 90′s
daddybawsten: Jay-Z by far!
CW: if you saw Jay-z in an elevator and had enough time to spit him one bar…what would you say?
daddybawsten: i wouldn’t spit a bar. lol I’d play it cool like i’m not a rapper and hopefully pull a contact out of him.
maybe even put in a good word at live nation for me
CW: good answer. lets switch gears and play a word association game
daddybawsten: ok
CW: jersey
daddybawsten: wat r the rules of the game?
lol
CW: first word that pops in your head
daddybawsten: me
so the word is jersey?
hmmmm
forgotten
CW: acosta
daddybawsten: booty
CW: south
daddybawsten: soulja boy
CW: lol most people think of T.I. and Outkast when you say South
do you have some type of underlying hatred for the south?
daddybawsten: lol no
CW: so do you think that Soulja Boy is top ten southern rappers of all time?
daddybawsten: Lyrically i wouldn’t say so but as far as being a complete artist he’s deserves a spot in there somewhere
CW: understood…lets wrap the interview up with one last game
I need you to pick one of the next matchups
daddybawsten: ok
CW: chris brown vs Rihanna
daddybawsten: Chris Brown
CW: Tiger Woods vs CNN
daddybawsten: Tiger!
lmao
CW: Obama vs Bush
daddybawsten: Barack!
CW: Michael Jackson white vs Michael Jackson black
daddybawsten: lmao! damn, i gotta go wit the black one. those songs are classic….
